CHOOSING A THERAPIST

I have put together answers to the most frequently asked questions that I receive.  Here are answers to some questions you may have. Thanks for your interest and feel free to contact me with any other queries you may have.

Counselling sessions normally last 50 to 60 minutes for face to face, video call and telephone. Even if you are late, the appointment must end on time. If you are delayed, however, I still suggest that you attend your appointment.

Sessions are usually held once a week. Payments are taken by bank transfer. Payment is taken 48 hours in advance of your booked session.

Yes. Please call me, and I will contact you within 24 hrs to reschedule to a mutually convenient time.

Please note that cancelling an appointment with less than 24 hours notice will mean incurring a full session fee.

I do make very brief notes after a session using a unique client reference (rather than personal details).  The notes are kept separately to personal details and are secured on a password protected laptop.

When you need to talk to someone in between sessions, you can either make an earlier appointment with me, or look at the Useful Links page for other services that may be able to help you.

As previously stated I abide by the BACP Code of Ethics and everything you tell me is confidential unless I need to break this (refer to BACP Code of Ethics). I am in regular supervision and I discuss my cases with my supervisor without reference to personal details.

If you don’t hear from me then most likely there has been a technical failure, so either resend an email or please do try to call me again.  Please do leave your details (name and phone number) and I will return your call.

If I am unable to take phone calls or respond to emails there will be a message on this website with an explanation.

As an accredited member of the BACP I abide by the BACP code of ethics and to its complaints procedure.

Please visit their website here to follow their procedure.
